Principal’s Message
Chikusa High School has a proud tradition of serving the far-west Hyogo area for 66 years. In that time it has developed a reputation as a unique school in a safe, caring and positive environment. Students are encouraged to take full part in the busy life of the school, and participate in the varied sporting, cultural, volunteer, and leadership opportunities.
In 2010, our school was assigned as a secondary school under the close partnership with Chikusa Junior High School to meet the needs of the students and the community. We also offer a wide variety of extra support for students. Students with special needs and learning difficulties have the advice and guidance offered by our support staff to help them with their learning.
Our mission is also to provide our students with necessary skills and cultivate their talents so they can be accepted to the colleges/universities of their choice and be successful at those institutions of higher learning. Chikusa High School is always trying hard for the betterment of the community.

One month has already passed since the new school year started on April 8th, when we welcomed the first-year students in a solemn and heartwarming entrance ceremony. The cherry blossoms also celebrated the special day, coming out in a burst during such warm weather. The elder students welcomed the younger ones by singing the school song in chorus very proudly.
The student council held a ceremony to introduce the new comers to the seniors on the 9th, and the 10th graders introduced themselves, saying, "Hello, my name is …… I’m from …. junior high school. I’d like to join the … club." On April 16th, they held the general assembly to officially decide the plan of activities for the whole year.
The students successfully started their lessons, getting into the rhythm of previewing and reviewing each subject, and they are now doing quite well. Let’s take a look at some of their classes.
As you can see in the above pictures, we divide each class into three courses: Challenge Course, Basic Course, and Active Course. Each course has only around ten students and they have more chances to interact with the teachers for better understanding of each subject. Chikusa is a very beautiful mountain village with lots of colors and pretty flowers. As times goes by, you can enjoy viewing the changes of various landscapes on both sides of the valley. Now is the high season of "Kurinsou (flower of nine rings )" or Japanese Primrose (Primula Japonica) . If you have time, please come here and enjoy the good old scenes of traditional Japan.
